SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability, safety and efficiency will drive the industry of the future.

HIPAC will continue to set the benchmark in industrial packaging by creating innovation through the use and development of new technologies.

At HIPAC, we design packaging solutions that reduce the overall environmental impact of film at all stages of its life cycle, from production to disposal. Since the early 2000s we have chosen technologies with low environmental impact and we have reduced the use of energy and natural resources in our production cycle.

Technologies with reduced environmental impact

At HIPAC, we know that the road to long lasting success passes through sustainable choices.

Our journey towards environmental sustainability goes back a long way and consists of small and large achievements. Some of the most significant include, in 2007, the birth of NetRoll reels without the cardboard tube and, in 2008, the Premium family: our proposal for low thickness technical films originates at a time when the market was going in exactly the opposite direction, pushing to produce ever increasing volumes of plastic.

In recent years, we have been called to a new challenge: to further increase the sustainability of our films. A challenge to which we have responded with RELIVE, RENEW and RESOLVE and – of course – NETROLL technology.

We produce films containing up to 60% post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR) and certified ‘Plastica Seconda Vita’ – a mark guaranteeing the actual recycled content. We also produce films with recycled raw materials certified in accordance with the international ISCC plus standard.

Circular Economy

Reduction of waste materials

Reduced CO₂ emissions

We produce films that contain up to 100% bio-based raw materials from renewable sources, obtained from agricultural or food industry waste, certified in accordance with the international ISCC plus standard.

Renewable sources

Non exploitation of fossil sources

Reduction of waste materials

Reduced CO₂ emissions

The degradation process of the stretch film is reduced to a few years (2-3) and only starts when the film is disposed of in a landfill or in a biodigester for biomethane production.

100% recyclable

No microplastics

Reduction of waste materials

Reduced CO₂ emissions

All our products range can be produced in the NetRoll version: manual or automatic reels made of plastic only, without the traditional cardboard tube.

Water and footprint reduction

Reduced CO₂ emissions

Elimination of the paper core

Light and comfortable

The problem is not plastics, the problem is human behaviour.

Plastic is an extraordinary material: light and strong, cheap and durable, clean and safe. Plastic protects the food and goods that come into our homes, saves our lives in hospitals, reduces the weight of cars, trains and planes, and much more.

The problem of waste, whether plastic, paper or glass, always has one cause: human behaviour. To solve the problem of waste, it is not necessary to demonise a material or who produces it: it is necessary to promote virtuous behaviour through education and regulation, and to support the development of material recovery and recycling chains.

If we consider the entire life cycle of a material (LCA, Life Cycle Assessment), it is estimated that replacing plastic packaging with other materials would lead to an exponential increase in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, with negative consequences for the planet’s climate.
